The real fireworks start next week
Happy Fourth of July week! In my latest Daily Beast column, I predict President Donald Trump will set off a second fireworks show next week by nominating Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. As mentioned in the column and on CNN, this pick would tee up exactly the type of controversy Trump seems to love.
Another recent Daily Beast column, "Trump will get his SCOTUS pick, and Dems will get revenge," deals with the coming battle -- and how the fight over the high court has become so nasty.
More SCOTUS talk on Matt Lewis and the News
Ben Shapiro joined me on the podcast this week, to discuss what kind of person President Trump should nominate. He also discusses where Trump has impressed him, and where Trump has failed–plus the two types of “Never Trumpers.” Lastly, Ben talks about how he built his Daily Wire empire.
Also, this week, I talked to John Berman, anchor of CNN’s New Day, about journalism, civility, and waking up at 3:00 a.m. Stay tuned for my interview with Marc Ambinder, author of The Brink: President Reagan And The Nuclear War Scare of 1983.

Democrats on thin ICE
This weekend, I was on CNN to talk about how Democrats are making a big mistake by saying they want to abolish ICE. Check out the VIDEO here.
I'm working on an e-Book!
Over the years, many of my guests on Matt Lewis and the News have shared advice or insight that transcends current events. I'm collecting some of this wisdom for an upcoming e-book, which will probably be offered through Patreon.
I could use your help. Are there any tips or life lessons you have picked up from one of my guests? Email me at Matt@MattKLewis.com.
OPP (Other People's Podcasts)
If you want an excellent briefing on Trump’s #SCOTUS shirt list—plus a short recap on the court’s decisions this term—Ilya Shapiro on Jonah Goldberg's podcast is a must-listen. I also enjoyed listening to Dave Rubin on Adam Carolla's podcast, this week.
