"Go easy on me, kid."
The Democratic candidates for president aren't holding back against Joe Biden, despite his status as the elder statesman of the party - that much was clear during Wednesday night's debate. However, he had a better showing this time around, fending off concerns about his age and demonstrating that he's still sharp and energetic.
The question is, is he out of touch with a party that now views Barack Obama as being too conservative? Shortly after the debates, I joined Steve Inskeep at NPR to discuss this question, as well as Biden's politics compared to the other Democratic candidates and his potential appeal to conservative voters.
